Game Art Project: Update 03/05/2020

Since the last update ive been working on an number of different areas of my project.

Lighting

I received further feedback on my lighting with the main problem being that the scene was still too dark and that my shadows were not accurate. To improve my lighting I have implemented ‘Mesh Distance Fields’ to create dynamic soft area shadows. Doing so has increased my build times substantially, but the resulting light build is much more accurate.

I have also been looking into architectural visualisation with regards to lighting and have used techniques from videos on this to improve my lighting setup.

Polish

As the deadline for this project is in a week I have been compiling everything and getting it prepared for submission. Im going through my environment getting the last textures and assets in and tweaking existing content. I’ve been working on a flythrough video of my environment using the sequencer in UE4 to showcase my work.

My plan is to continue adding in the final elements of my environment and get all my work ready for the deadline.
